Shishu Vastra started with a simple realisation.

When we were shopping for our own daughter, we noticed something that has probably happened to you too. The clothes you find online at premium prices — the same quality, sometimes the exact same product — exists at a fraction of that cost if you know where to look.

We looked. We visited wholesale markets, touched the fabrics ourselves, compared everything — and realised there was a straightforward opportunity. Source good quality clothes directly, skip the layers of markup, and sell honestly to other parents who are tired of overpaying for something their child will outgrow in six weeks.

That is what Shishu Vastra is.

How we choose what you buy

We don't order from catalogues or drop-ship from suppliers we have never met. Every product on this site has been physically selected by Sreenidhi, who runs Shishu Vastra. We travel to our suppliers, go through their entire range, and handpick what makes it to the site.

The questions we ask while selecting are not a seller's questions. They are a parent's questions.

Will this fabric feel okay on a baby's skin after a full day of wearing? Will this colour survive repeated washing without fading? Can a toddler actually run, fall, eat and sleep in this comfortably? Is this something we would put on our own daughter without hesitation?

If the answer to any of these is uncertain — it doesn't come home with us.

On pricing

We are not the cheapest option on the internet and we don't want to be. Competing on price alone is a race nobody wins — especially parents who have been burned by cheap clothes that fall apart after two washes.

What we do promise is this — every rupee you spend at Shishu Vastra goes toward the actual product. Not toward someone else's marketing budget or layers of middlemen markup.

Good quality kids clothing shouldn't feel like a luxury when you are buying new sizes every few months.

What keeps us going

We have received kind words from many parents — but the feedback that genuinely matters to us comes from complete strangers. People who found us online, ordered without knowing anyone here, and came back to say their baby was comfortable. That the quality held up. That they'd recommend us.

That is the only metric we care about.

Shishu Vastra is run by parents who shop for your child exactly the way they shop for their own.

No fashion team. No trend algorithms. No business degree. No prior knowledge of the clothing industry or how e-commerce even works. Just two parents who figured it all out from scratch — because they believed other parents deserved the same quality they were searching for themselves, without paying double for it.

We are still figuring things out as we go. But one thing has never changed since day one — we only put on this site what we'd put on our own daughter.
